ABOUT  THE  SITE-The  site  is  temple  of  godess Chinnmastika(beheaded  goddess) on  the  junction or  confluence  of  river  Damodar  and  the  Bhairawi. As  the  terrain  is  hilly and  rocky so  the  flowing  water  takes  the  shape  of  falling  water  from different height This  gives  it  the  name  Rajrapafalls  There  is  statue  of  Rati  and  Kamdeo  in opposite  direction.    In  the  base  of  a  lotus  which  Chinmastika  has taken,  own  cut  head in  her  hand  and  drinking her  own  blood flowing  from  her  neck on  her  tongue Two  other  blood  flows  are  going  to  her  lady   mates  Jaya  and Vijaya  on whose demand  to  quench  their  thurst  and  hunger  Parwati  cut  her  neck  while  taking  bath In  Damodar(Mandakini). These have  been  shown  as  statues  rising  on  Kamdeo. Other  two  hands  of  Chinmastika  Parwati  is  adorned  with  head  cutter  or  Khadag  and  human  head .She  wears  Janeu  of  snake.She  is  garlanded  with  human  head .In  10  Tantrik  vidyas  Chinnmastika  is  in credible . Three  blood  flows  are  indicative  of    three  main    nerves the  Ingla,Pingla and Susumna    of  the  human  being. The  site  is  counted  among  the  51  shaktipithas of India. Sacrifice of goat is  a regular  feature here  . But  proportionally quantity  of  flys  is  very  less.

Historical-It  is  said  that  the  temple  is  about  63  thousand  year  old. Few people also Believe  that  it  was  place  of  ashram  of  Meghamuni  of  Durgasaptsati. According  to Dr  Suniti  kumar  chatterji the  temple  was  made    in  320AD   during  Samudragupta Period . It  is  envisaged  from  the  architectural  style  of  construction  of  that  period.

Shakaracharya  came  to  the  temple  8^th  AD.Priest  of  Ghosal  dynasty  came  to  the  temple  from  Ediadah place  in  Bengal.He  was  invited  by  King  of  Ramgarh.LatterOn  Raja  Kamakhya  Naryan  singh   renovated  the  place  by  donating  1.5  acres  of land  surrounding  the  temple  in  its  name.

Physical-The  height  of  the  statue  of  goddess  Chinnmastika is  about  2’. It  is  very  old  and  antique It  is wrapped  by  silver  coat.The  weight  altogether is  5kg .The  shivling  in  the  temple  premises  about 14’The  temple  is  smaller  in  nature.The  dome of  the  garv grih  is  spherical  and  step  styled  .There  are  ten  steps  to  rise  up  to  the  top.

Four  ygya  kunds  are  established  on  the  four  corners  of  the  base  platform  of  the  temple.A  big  Rudra bhairo  temple is  in  the  south  side.Entry  gate  of  the  temple  is Eastward   facing  which  is  marked place  for  goat  sacrifice,  in  the  left  side  is  place  for  mundan  ceremony,  south  of  which  is  marked  for  sacrifice  of  Baison,further south  of   it  is  a  corridor  on  the  bank  of  the  Bhairavi  river west of it is store room

In  the  northern  part  of  the  temple  is  Damodar  gate,where  about  ten to  twelve  round  steps  are there  to  go  and  touch  the  pious  water  of  Damodar  at  “Tantrik  ghat”The  vortices  of  confluence  of  Mahabhairavi  and  Damodar  has  created  a  kund  .Devotees take  bath  here  and  get  rid  of  their  sins About  half  miles NW of the temple  there is flow of cold  streams  but  this placeof temple  has flow of hot  water stream  seepages.According  to  importance  of  seven  numbers  in  tantrik  study  seven  other  temples  of  the  same  stature  was  made  by  some  devotee  named  B B Sharan.The  entry  gate  to  the  garvegrih  of  the  temple  is  very  narrow  and  constricted.

WORSHIP-Worshipping  method  by  goat  sacrifice  and  coconut  is  very  old  and is continued  here  also.40  to  50  goats  are  sacrificed  every  day.The  place  is  also  famous  for  tribal  ceromonies.Peoples  from  near  about  places  come  for  asthibisarjanof  their  kith  and  kins  like  Prayag  and  Kashi  and  pind  dan  and  sradh  ceromoney  like Falgu  at  Gaya.These  are  done  at  demarcated  places  named  “ for  it.Bhandardah ghat”

FESTIVITY-Makarsankrantri    and  Magh  mela  is  the  main    festivity  of  the  site.
